EnCorps STEMx Tutors Program Seeks M&E Volunteers

The EnCorps STEMx Tutors Program — which provides STEM professionals and college students the ability to virtually tutor middle school math and more to middle school students— is looking for volunteers for this school year.

The STEMx Tutors Program offers a unique opportunity to engage with middle schoolers seeking math tutoring and STEM guidance.

This past year, the program provided more than 4,700 hours of free tutoring to students in need, supported 212 students in their math, increasing overall math proficiency for 86 percent of engaged students.

By volunteering, tutors can share their passion for STEM while supporting a middle schooler from an under-resourced community, who is underperforming in math coursework.

The math covered is foundational math, pre-algebra, and some Algebra 1.

Time commitment consists of tutoring one student on your schedule, or two from 12-5 p.m. PST, one hour, twice a week, via Zoom.

EnCorps is currently seeking new volunteers to sign on by Sept. 30. To apply to the EnCorps STEMx Tutors Program, click here, or email ashley.lentz@encorps.org.
